Nuts

I love nuts.
Crushed and sprinkled on my salad and my meat.
I love nuts.
There is nothing quite as fun and nice to eat.
I love nuts.
In a spread and in my cereal as well
I love nuts.
On my pizza and on pasta it’s just swell.

I love nuts.
And I munch them for a tasty midnight snack.
I love nuts.
From a jar or from a bag or from a sack.
I love nuts.
Macadamias and hazelnuts as well;
I love nuts.
Those pistachios you pry out of a shell.

I am nuts.
All I think about’s the nuts I’m gonna eat.
I am nuts.
I don’t care if they are salted, plain or sweet.
I am nuts.
And the doctor says I’m going to get sick;
I said I’d give them up.
So I’d better eat ‘em quick.

  1. It’s true, we’re sure
    That Robbie’s nuts
    There can be few
    If’s ands or buts

    His mug is kind
    His style is schweet
    But he puts crushed nuts
    On his meat!…

    Of habits I know
    There are worse
    There is still time
    To it reverse

    In this eleven-
    Thirtieth hour
    By harnessing
    Simple willpow’r

    When he sees nuts
    He must self say
    “I will not crush
    Those nuts today

    Nor will I do
    Tomorrow either
    My meat is giving
    Nuts a breather!”

      1. My friend — don’t have to later say
That you could not accrue it
        Seize this HereNow chance today
        For flailing yourself through it
You will not feel at all okay
        You’ll realize you blew it
Just stare hard at those nuts and say
“No, I refuse to chew it!”

      2. Ohdear. But, dear heart, I was just trying to save you from another “intervention.” Last time, your friends had to go to a lot of trouble getting those videos of you on several too many nuts, you know We don’t want to have to go through all that again, now do we?…

    1. I had it linked, but now I manually switch it off, because I felt like it was just twitter clutter! For a while I was reformatting my poems so they looked nice for Twitter but it was lots of work. I’ll have to start doing it again.

      Thanks, Robbie! 😊
