Motorbike

I bought myself a motorbike
And rode it down the street.
I felt the sunlight on my back
The summer air was sweet.
It all felt quite fantastic and
Quite wonderful until
I rode my brand new motorbike
Right up my local hill.

The problem, you’ll see shortly, is
I couldn’t find the brake.
And as I gathered lots of speed
I soon began to quake.
You will be glad to hear that I
Soon drifted to a stop
But not before I plowed right through
A prickly cactus crop!

  1. Hmm. The first time I ever rode a dirt bike, I cranked that throttle and pulled a wheelie. Accidentally, of course. But I’m happy to say I knew how to use the brake. Otherwise I, too, would’ve likely plowed into a prickly cactus in order to come to a stop. 😛

  2. I thought your last line was going to be something like “A transfixed traffic cop”….but then you might have been arrested, and would’ve had to cop a plea — or flee a cop. Not much point in that. 😦
